Sustainable Plastic – recycled PET

Recycled PET (rPET) is coming up as a sustainable material to replace virgin PET and PP. The environmental assessment has demonstrated RPET as a viable solution to the problem of which plastic packaging is most sustainable. Using an RPET product creates a value-add and a point of differentiation amongst competing options.  While PLA has some sustainable characteristics, such as being made from a renewable source, a disposal infrastructure is not widely available for mainstream usage. Therefore, at present RPET can be the most sustainable option.
 
rPET has not only very potential as sustainable material, but also fit the trend of using recycled plastic in the world and Regulation (EU) 2022/1616, “this Regulation aims to increase the use of recycled plastic material in contract materials while ensuring the safety of recycled plastic. Recycled plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food must be both chemically and microbiologically safe”.
 
At the end of 2022, we are very proud to be the one of first companies in Vietnam who got GRS certificate for recycled post- consumer PET using for food contact packaging specially.
